SustainC is part of the Bio-Waste2Carbon (BW2C) project consortium, an innovative initiative that is transforming how forest waste is managed and contributing to the decarbonization of the economy.
At the core of the project is Kryos-C, a mobile and energy-autonomous cryogenic system designed to capture biogenic CO₂ directly in forest environments. This technology, developed with the support of the COMPETE 2030 program, enables the conversion of forest residues into high-value raw material, with direct impact on the production of green biofuels and on mitigating environmental risks such as wildfires.
The BW2C project is co-financed by FEDER, through COMPETE 2030, and is the result of a collaboration between SustainC, Fravizel, ADAI, and the University of Coimbra.
